A Web Developer develops application for users on World Wide Web. The applications developed are hosted on a server and accessed through a web browser (client).

Programming languages used by a web developer are:

  • Server Side Programming: apart from common languages like java, c++, c# etc scripting languages like PHP, ASP, VBScript are used to program the client side of the web application.
  • Client Side Programming: To program the client side, most commonly used languages are JavaScript, DOM, HTML and CSS.
  • Data Storing and Flow: to store data on client side, web developers use databases like MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server. XML is also used to store data. To take and receive data from client side, XML, JSON, AJAX are used.
